This is a situation that no teacher wants to end up in. It happens slowly and over time. The joy and love that teachers feel for this job can often mask some of the health symptoms until it is too late. It is important to be proactive about our health and not wait until we feel the effects of burnout to address it. Regular sleep, proper nutrition and exercise are some obvious ways to be proactive about our occupational health. Each teacher has their own unique situations so what is right for one teacher might not work for the next, what is important is to stay mindful our health and to take proactive measures to ensure that we are in optimal shape to perform our best.
